The lake dwelling sites are a worldwide unique information source about life in the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. The cultural layers of these settlements are endangered by natural and human erosion processes. Practical measures are being carried out in Germany and Switzerland to protect sites on location to preserve these fantastic prehistoric sources for future generations of researchers.

Manpower is needed to position the boat with its gravel-load correctly.
